Dr Guenther was a Buddhist Scholar and prolific Buddhist author (Titles at Amazon). Perhaps best known for his translations of Gampopa's Jewel Ornament of Liberation and Longchenpa's Kindly Bent to Ease Us three volume series. While his writing style was not always the easiest to follow, Dr Guenther was one of the earlier translators bringing important Tibetan works to the English language and his contributions to Western Buddhism were invaluable.
